The students in Room 1 learned about climate change in class. They did an experiment to show the effects of greenhouse gasses.
They set up 2 environments by placing a lego house and an ice cube in a tray. They covered environment 1 in cling film. The cling film acted like the extra layer of greenhouse gases that are building up around the Earth’s atmosphere.
They then put the two environment sitting the sun and used stop watches to time how long the ice too to melt.
They found that the ice in environment 1 melted in1 hour, 12 minutes and 12 seconds. The ice in Environment 2 melted in 1 hour, 41 minutes and 23 seconds.
Environment 1 became warmer because the cling film trapped the heat inside making the ice melt faster.
